During the winter season, domestic airlines in India are scheduled to operate over 3,500 daily flights, representing a 5% year-on-year increase. Currently, airlines are operating between 3,150 and 3,180 flights daily.

The OAG analysis indicates that among the twenty major markets, only China, India, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Spain, and Turkey have registered double-digit seat capacity growth in 2024 compared to the pre-pandemic period. Notably, Saudi Arabia has surpassed India with a 17.1% increase in seat capacity, although it remains a smaller market with 217,000 daily seats, compared to India, which ranks third in the world with over 650,000 daily seats.

Additionally, the analysis includes the UAE, which has seen a 15% growth in seats during the same period, although this growth is exclusively in the international sector, as the country lacks a domestic aviation market.
